Notes
CBSL Economic and Social Statistics, table 1.20. Compiled by Socio Economics and Planning Centre, Department of Agriculture. Yields, farmgate prices and costs of cultivation by crop, irrigation type (RF - Rainfed, IR - Irrigated), district and season, one row per combination. Crop and district text is folded through parse_real_misc.normalize_label/normalize_district before use, which merges pure case drift across editions with no letter changed ('Whole Island'/'Whole island', 'Big Onion'/'Big onion', 'Green Chilli'/'Green chilli', 'Pole Bean'/'Pole bean', 'Red Onion'/'Red onion', 'Sweet Potato'/'Sweet potato') and, for district only, the whitespace around a hyphen ('Ampara-East'/'Ampara - East'/'Ampara -East' and 'Ampara-West'/'Ampara - West' all fold to the hyphen-only form) - clean()'s own whitespace collapse cannot reach either, since neither is a run of whitespace by itself. Nine misspellings are folded the same way (parse_real_misc.SPELLING: 'Kurunagala', 'Puttlam', 'Nuwaraeliya'/'Nuwera Eliya', 'Batticalo', 'Brijal', 'Cow pea', 'Gingerlly', 'Pumkin'), which had split each district's or crop's run into two codes; 'System H' is kept distinct from 'Mahaweli H', since nothing in the table says they are the same. Verified: every (district, crop, season, measure) combination maps to a single irrigation type except 30, which genuinely carry both IR and RF rows (the same crop grown both ways in the same district and season, e.g. Kurunegala paddy in Maha) - not a duplicate row, checked by spot inspection of the source.
