Notes
CBSL 'Rates and Indicators' Exchange Rates page, monthly average, 24-currency trade-weighted basket. REER uses the CCPI rebased to 2021=100 from Feb 2023, and rebased partner-country CPIs from Jan 2026 - both are methodology revisions to the same index (the file's own footnotes), not a base-year change, so the series is not split. Cross-checked against the Annual Economic Review's Table 98 in check_eer_vs_table98(); differences from 2024 on are that revision, expected and reported, not a parsing error.

Source discrepancies

What the warehouse found when it checked this series: the same figure from two agencies, splice overlaps, published rates against ones recalculated from the index, and outliers.

  • Disagrees with itselfJan 2024

This series reads 73.37; the same figure from the other source reads 72.45.

    Two agencies: 73.375 and 72.45, difference 0.925.

REER: IF_REER vs AER Table 98 (Statistical Appendix)

3 months (2024-01, 2024-03, 2024-08) where IF_REER's REER disagrees with the AER Statistical Appendix's Table 98 by 0.7-0.9 index points (~1%); every other of ~150 shared months agrees within the 0.5-point tolerance. most likely the AER's frozen Table 98 snapshot used a slightly different CPI vintage than the live IF_REER file for these three months. Not a NEER issue - NEER agrees throughout.
